C.ELEGANS DYE
RediStain™ WormDye Lyso
This dye is a vital stain that can be used to stain apoptotic corpses in the gonad in live C. elegans. It is also used as a lysosomal marker.
RediStain™ WormDye Live/Dead Green
This dye can indicate which worms in a population have died.
RediStain™ WormDye Neuro Red – DiI
This dye is a lipophilic dye used to stain amphid sensory neurons in live C. elegans.
RediStain™ Fluorescent Staining – WormDye Lipid Green
Lipophilic fluorophore dye can be used to track lipids inside C. elegans effectively. Fat content per body volume can be quantified in individual worms.
RediStain™ WormDye Neuro Green – DiO
This is a lipophilic dye that can be used to stain amphid sensory neurons in live C. elegans.
NEMAGEL
NemaGel immobilizes C. elegans for imaging purposes. It can reverse immobilization and recover worms.
NemaGel uses polystyrene microbeads (30µm) for uniform pressure on the coverslip without damaging C. elegans. The uniform pressure allows for complete compression and immobilization of the worm sample in the gel. NemaGel will form into a gel above 10°C and will re-liquify when cooled to below 10°C. The gel remains stable during autoclaving.
FREEZ-DRIED OP50
The Freeze-dried OP50 is a high-quality cultured Escherichia coli and is used as a food source for the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans. It is used to seed NGM agar plates or add to liquid cultures (S-medium). It was cultured optimally to achieve 4 grams of pure OP50 cells, which equals 1 gram of OP50 after freeze-drying. Resuspend the 1 gram of Freeze-dried OP50 powder in the 50ml tubes with sterile water or S-medium, and you have instant and high-quality OP50 food for your nematodes. The viability of the OP50 cells is reduced due to the freeze-drying process; however, enough cells are alive to form a clear and normal OP50 lawn on your NGM plates.
A filter set for LabTie Freeze-dried OP50 is also available that allows you to filtrate the dissolved Freeze-dried OP50 product to obtain a clear solution rid of large particles.
- Simple to use filtration step reducing particulates
- Contaminant free
- 1 unit/vial will seed 250 ml liquid culture or 100 x 60mm plates
- Reliable results
- Healthy elegans due to high nutritional value
- Can process tubes with swabs.
PCR MASTER MIX
The PCR Master Mix is designed for rapid PCR amplification. It includes a robust mix of applications, including genotyping, screening, and library construction. The PCR Master Mix contains a buffer, polymerase, and dNTPs, making running the PCR easy with a loading dye to save a step while loading the reaction onto an agarose gel.
- Run time: 30 minutes
- High yields under standard and fast PCR conditions
- The mix contains red dye for direct loading onto agarose gels
- Hot-start Taq stays inactive until heated
- 30 freeze/thaw cycles with no loss of activity
- Amplicons up to 6kb
- 1 second extension time for amplicons under 1kb;
C.ELEGANS DNA EXTRACTION KIT
The Mini-BeadBeater 96 disrupts microbial cells and plant and animal tissue by violently agitating up to forty-five 2 ml screw-cap micro vials or a 96 place deep-well microplate containing small ceramic or steel beads and disruption buffer. Resistant samples like spores or fibrous tissue are homogenized in 2-3 minutes in 0.1 to 1 ml of extraction medium. The high-speed mill can also be used to dry-grind friable or hard frozen samples.
- Accessory 2 ml or 50 ml vial holders machined out of solid aluminum blocks available for strict temperature control (ice and liquid N2)
- Programmable digital timer (1 sec to 5 min runtime)
- Manual, flexible, and accurate
- Digital speed control, variable from 1200-2400 rpm.
